#1.  The woman was far too arrogant, though. She didn't hide in the shadows but knelt next to Percy and waited until John motioned both of them to stand.

[come to one's senses]

1) 제정신이 들다  : to start thinking reasonably; to begin to use good judgement [여기서 'senses'는  '보통의 정상적인(normal or sane faculties) 정신'을 의미한다.]

He finally came to his senses and gave up his plan to quit his job and become an artist.

"마침내 그는 제정신을 차리고 일을 그만두고 미술가가 된다는 자신의 계획을 포기했다."
