# Unoka, for that was his father's name, had died ten years ago. In his day he was lazy and improvident and was quite incapable of thinking about tomorrow. [해설]

[let go of ~]

본래 'let 목적어 go'로 사용하던 것인데 목적어를 뒤로 보낸 후에 'let go 목적어'로 사용할 것을 '목적어 표시의 of'를 'of' 뒤에 넣어서 만들어진 표현이다.

1) ~을 놓아주다 : to release one's grip on someone or something

Please ​let go of me--you're hurting my arm! "제발 놔줘요. 제 팔 비틀어 아프잖아요."

2) 해고하다 : to fire or dismiss an employee

I'm worried that they'll let go of me once this special project is over.

"걱정이에요. 이 특별 프로젝트가 끝나면 날 해고할 거야."

3) 풀어주다 : to release someone or something from custody
