    "프아로의 눈은 슬쩍 반짝거렸다.

    "자네 말은 확실히 가능하죠. 하지만 친구, 자네의 몇 관점에 관해서 잘못된 게 있어. 저 두 사람은 자네 말과 달리 깡패도 아니고 자객도 아니네. 오히려 두 분은 아주 학식 있고 저명한 고고학자들이네."

    "계속해보게. 자네 나 놀리는 거지!"

    "전혀 아니네. 저 사람들 모습으로 확실히 아네. 한 분은 아르만 듀퐁이고 한 사람은 아들인 쟝 듀퐁이네. 수사에서 멀지 않은 페르시아의 유적지에서 아주 흥미로운 발굴 작업을 하고 돌아오신 지 얼마 안 되네."

: something that one especially enjoys or is skillful at

ㅎ 우리 말로는 '우리 밥이지'의 뜻이지만 영어 모국어 화자는 'meat'를 사용한다.

앞에 'not'과 상관없이 '*unas'는 없으므로 'as'를 사용한다. 'unlike'은 전치사다.

[pull one's leg]

속이다, 놀리다 : to tease or joke with someone, often trying to convince them of something untrue

'다리를 댕긴다'는 것은 막대기를 잡고 있다가 다리 하나를 뒤로 댕겨서(pull back) 넘어 뜨리는 장난을 의미한다.

Quit pulling my leg, I know there isn't a Hollywood director calling me right now.
