It seems that ~ : 'It'는 가주어, 'that 이하'는 진주어, 'seems'는 'is seemingly true'의 뜻이다. (사실인 것 같다)

It appears that ~ : 'It'는 가주어, 'that 이하'는 진주어, 'appears'는 'is apparently true'의 뜻이다.(사실로 드러나 보인다)

Possibly it is that ~ : 'it'는 가주어, 'that 이하'는 진주어이고 'is'는 'is true'의 뜻이다. ['be'는 자체로 'be true']

→ It may be that ~ : 'It'는 가주어, 'that 이하'는 진주어이고 서법 부사인 'possibly'를 안쪽으로 넣으면 'may'가 된다. [may be = may be true]

'it may be that'은 'it may be true that ~'의 뜻이다.

'It may be that ~'과 'It could be that ~'은 비슷한 뜻으로 사용된다.

Possibly is it that ~? → Can it be that ~? 의문문일 경우 'may'는 사용 불가하다.
