      비토리아는 괜한 짓을 했다고 느꼈다. 올리베티 사령관이 시간이 충분하다고 모든 사람을 설득해놓은 상황이어서 조. 하지만 비토리아는 알고 있었다. 바티칸의 곤경 소식이 새어 나가면 전체 지역에 잠깐이며 구경 군들이 그득하게 될 수 있다는 것을. ~ ~

'hope' 뒤에는 보통 현재형으로 미래를 대신한다.

perplex [pərpléks] : 뒤얽히게 하다; 당혹하게[헷갈리게] 하다  : (L per- : completely + plectere : intertwine) ['complex'와 같은 어원이다. [얽힘이 우선적인 뜻이다.]

nonplus [nanplΛs] : [남을] 몹시 난처하게 만들다, 어찌할 바를 모르게 하다(perplex), 어리둥절케 하다 : (L non plus : → nonplus : not + more) [원래는 더 행하거나 말할 게 없는 상태를 지칭, 'at a loss'와 같은 뜻]
