여기서 'factor'를 간단한 'put'으로 바꾸면 '의사 결정에 이것을 넣다'로 쉽게 이해된다. 이 'put'을 'factor'로 바꿔 넣으면 'put this as a factor into~'의 뜻이 된다. 결국 동사로 쓰인 구동사 'factor into'는 '변수로 넣다', '변수로 고려하다'의 뜻이 된다.
