[어휘 또는 표현]

tangential [tændʒénʃəl, -tl] : 접선의 [방향에 있는]; 거의 관계가 없는; 약간 닿을 뿐인; [이야기가] 탈선하는, 주제를 벗어난 : (L tangere : to touch → 현재 분사 tangent-) [거의 닿고 지나가면 탈선하고 거의 관계가 없다는 뜻이 생긴다.]
