Ignazio groaned and there was a long silence. When he began speaking again, his voice was weaker. "Robert, I hope you escaped. They're still after me . . . and I'm . . . I'm not well. I'm trying to reach a doctor, but . . ." There was another long pause, as if il Duomino were mustering his last bit of energy, and then . . . "Robert, listen carefully. What you seek is safely hidden. The gates are open to you, but you must hurry. Paradise Twenty-five." He paused a long moment and then whispered, "(A)[         ]."

Godot [F. gɔdo] : 고도 : 아일랜드 출신 Samuel Beckett(사무엘 베케트) 작 'En attendant Godot'(Waiting for Godot)에서 두 사람의 방랑자가 기다리고 있는 데 끝내 나타나지 않는 인물, 불어로 초연되었다가 영어로 번역됨. 블라디미르(디디)와 에스트라공(고고)은 유명하죠. ['God(영어의 하나님) + Dieu(불어의 신)'의 합성어.]

가호 [加護] : 신이나 부처가 힘을 베풀어 도와줌.

[해설]

godsend [gάdsènd] : 뜻밖의 행운, 하나님의 선물; 횡재 : a person or thing that comes unexpectedly but is particularly welcome : (E God's send → god sen 19 세기 초) ['God's send' = 'what God has sent, God's sond or God's sand(O E message, service)]

The system may prove a godsend - or a curse. "이 시스템은 행운이 될 수도 있고 아니면 저주가 될 수도 있다."

Godspeed [gaˈdspid] : (고어) 행운[성공](의 기원) : an expression of good wishes to a person starting a journey  : (Middle E God speed you → Godspeed) ['speed'는 빠른 것과 상관없으며 'prosper'와 관련된 뜻이다.]

She wished him godspeed. "그녀는 그에게 신의 가호가 있기를 기원했다."

I bade him Godspeed. "나는 그에게 신의 가호가 있으라고 말했다."

"Farewell and godspeed," the general said, ending his speech, and then it was time to go. 

"안녕 그리고 신의 가호가 있기를"이라고 장군은 말하고서 연설을 끝 맺었고 이제 가야 할 때였다."
