'make' 다음에는 'themselves'가 탈락되어 있는 것과 마찬가지다. 'become'은 '어떡하다 보니 되다'의 뜻인 반면에 'make'는 '자질상, 성질상 되다'의 뜻이다.

The military overthrew the government to seize control over the country. Might makes right yet again.
