# Chapter Twelve looks at the effects of using standard American history textbooks. It shows that the books actually make students stupid. [~ of a kind, ~ of a sort, of sorts]

엉터리의, 나쁜, 변변찮은, 나름의, 그런대로의 : having inferior, mediocre, or incomplete characteristic of something; of a (usually poor) kind

'of a kind'와 'of a sort'와 'of sorts'는 명사 뒤에서 사용될 때 가산 명사로 'a'가 붙거나 '-s'가 붙는다. 다만 'of kinds'는 사용하지 않는다.

He is a poet of a kind. "그는 나름 시인이다."

There is good news of a kind for the Prime Minister. 

"수상에게는 변변찮은 좋은 뉴스가 있다."
