[cut it]

1) 일하기에 충분한, 적합한; 잘하다, 만족스럽게 하다; 성공하다 : to be sufficient or adequate for a task, or generally; to do or perform satisfactorily or successfully :  If you say that someone can't cut it, you mean that they do not have the qualities needed to do a task or cope with a situation

Players who can't cut it soon quit the team. "잘 못 하는 선수들은 곧 팀을 그만두게 된다." 

If he can't cut it, then we'll get someone else to do the job.

[say[speak] through one's teeth] 

(이를 악물고 이빨 사이로 밀어내는 듯한) 위협적인 목소리로 → (이런 쌍) 이를 악다물고 말하다

When you speak normally, you move your jaw (and therefore your teeth) and your lips. When you speak through your teeth, your jaw remains fully closed and your teeth tight together and you only move your lips. Your voice comes out softer, strained and slightly distorted -- and your words are often meant for someone close to you, not the entire group you may be with. You speak this way when you're under great emotion, often anger.
