[어휘 또는 표현]

ourn = our'n : ours : 'mine'과 같은 방식으로 형성되었다.

Dont ere a man mislike it more. = Don't before a man mislike it more.

옛날 형태에서 부사절에서 흔히 원형이 쓰였던 예이다.

It's laying there = It's lying there

흔히 틀렸다고는 하지만 'laying'이 사용되기도 한다.

whittle [hwítl] : [나무 등을] 조금씩 깎다; 줄이다, 삭감하다 : ['knife'와 관련된 어원이지만 'w-'는 'wood'로 '-ittle'은 'little'로 기억하자.]

flair [flεər] : 능력, 재능; 날카로운 안목; (스타일 등의) 세련 : (L fragrare ; smell sweet → F flairer) [후각, 날카로운 후각에서]

[해설]

flail [fleil] : 도리깨질하다, 연타하다; [팔 등을] 심하게 휘두르다; 몹시 흔들리다 : (L flagellum : whip) [ㅎ 일종의 채찍질과 깃발처럼 흔들기]
