  "Don't tell me."  Sandy could barely hide his sarcasm. "The studio wants to do the story of my life."

  She laughed. And the sound was still like crystal.

[ㅎ 정신이 나간 거나 이성이 떨어져 나간 거나 마찬가지, 흔히 말하는 '로커'(가수)를 의미하는 것이 아니고 '라커'(locker : 자물쇠가 달린 보관함)도 아니다. 'trolley'(시가 전차)를 말한다. 전차를 위의 전깃줄과 연결하는 장치를 'rocker'(점멸기)라고 하는데 켜지면 제대로 작동하지만 끊어지면(off) 작동을 못 한다. 사람도 이처럼 끊어지면 제대로 작동할 수 없고 그래서 '미친, 얼빠진'의 뜻으로 사용되게 되었다. 다른 주장으로 '흔들의자'(rocker)에서 떨어진 것과 연결하기도 하는 데 설득력이 조금 떨어진다.]
